BVI 2015
From April 18-26 I chartered an Aquila 48 from MarineMax Vacations. My son Kipper Blakeley and a good friend, Scott Minick joined me on the cruise through the British Virgin Islands. We arrived at Hodges Creek Marina on Saturday morning and left midday for The Bight at Norman island, where we secured a mooring and took the dinghy over to the Caves for some good snorkeling. Dinner that evening at the restaurant on the beach.
We left early Sunrday to take a mooring at The Indians, where we spent nearly two hours snorkeling around the rocks. Late morning we left for Jost van Dyke and stopped at nearby Sandy Cay where we had a long swim from the mooring to the beautiful beach.
Early afternoon we cruised over to Great Harbor, Jost van Dyke and did some more snorkeling. Dinner and drinks that night at Foxy's. Best key lime pie and best Hurricane drink.
Monday morning we left for Marina Cay (Pusser's) for excellent snorkeling.
Tuesday morning cruised to Anegada, about 15 miles north of Virgin Gorda. The island is relatively flat and is the only coral island in the Virgin Islands. We rented three mopeds and rode over to Loblolly Bay for lunch and snorkeling.
Wednesday morning left for The Baths at the southern end of Virgin Gorda island and spent the day swimming and climbing between the large boulders.
Thursday morning we returned to the Baths and found a mooring that afternoon near Saba Rock, where we had dinner.
Friday morning Scott and I took the dinghy over to Bitter End and Biras Creek, then left for Cooper Island, where we spent our last night.
Saturday we turned in the boat at Hodges Creek Marina and flew home..
